The corona numbers in Austria are increasing – the occupancy rate in the hospitals is also increasing. In addition, the vaccination campaign is stagnating. Now, Health Minister Wolfgang Mückstein announced in an interview with PULS24 that the vaccination campaign is currently being designed to be more target-group-oriented and more detailed in order to also reach those who have not yet been reached.
In Austria, 62.7 percent of the population are currently fully vaccinated. But some are still skeptical about the vaccination – including tennis star Dominik Thiem, who recently made people sit up and take notice that he would rather wait for the dead vaccine. With Health Minister Wolfgang Mückstein this statement meets with incomprehension: “I can only ask Dominic Thiem to get vaccinated.” There would also be long-covid among younger athletes, such as ice hockey talent Marco Rossi.
In addition, the dead vaccine will not be available until 2022. In addition, according to Mückstein, there is “no indication that it has any advantages over the current vaccines.” The vaccines currently available are all safe and have already been vaccinated billions of times. Of course, Thiem had recently announced that he would use another vaccine if necessary in order to be able to participate in the Australian Open.
