Even in the USA, the country with the greatest tradition of personal freedom in the western world, the state-enforced vaccination campaign is increasingly taking on totalitarian traits: after President Joe Biden limited himself to demonizing the unvaccinated for a long time (his government wanted Make the unvaccinated even jointly responsible for the temporary crash in stock exchange prices), has been demanding “Sleepy Joe” from US companies for several weeks now, Forcing their employees to be vaccinated.
As of this week, Megan Gray has also been one of the victims of this immense pressure. The popular news anchor for Mississippi TV station WLOX became released after 18 yearsbecause it refused to accept the one prescribed by the parent company To have vaccination carried out on you. Particularly bizarre about the case: Gray was considered recovered and had survived a Covid 19 infection and had antibodies.
In an emotional Facebook statement (see below), reported on by various US media, she said she respected each individual’s personal vaccination decision. It is regrettable that the other way round, this respect is not shown to her as well. Nor do you intend to start a debate on vaccination as such. In addition, she tried everything to avoid dismissal; repeatedly offered the broadcaster to be tested weekly at its own expense. Nobody wanted to know anything about it.
However, she believes that one of the great things about America is making decisions about one’s own health. Knowing about the consequences that her decision would also mean for her family, she nevertheless made it after long deliberations: She would stick to her rejection of the vaccination. A forced decision Either getting vaccinated or not being able to make a living is a “dangerous precedent”says Gray. Although she lost her job, she retained her personal integrity.
Notwithstanding this harrowing recent case of discrimination, which is reminiscent of the dark times of fascism, other media companies – following the health apartheid regime promoted by Washington – have now imposed a compulsory imprisonment. This also fell in the meantime Meteorologist Karl Bohnak in Michigan as well as the Reporter Linda Simmons victim in Missouri: Both had refused to be vaccinated, also on the grounds of their personal freedom. Bohnak urged everyone who loves America and its freedom to raise their voices: “Hopefully it is not too late!”
My father always said:
Integrity is doing the right thing even when no one is watching.
I’ve always lived by it, but in this particular case a lot of people watch. That’s why I feel compelled to tell the truth and explain why you won’t see me on WLOX again.
Gray Television, the parent company of WLOX, has implemented a company policy that requires all employees, managers, guests, outside contractors and renters to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. This is a decision of the parent company; not from WLOX.
I am not vaccinated and am no longer eligible for employment with Gray Television or any of their broadcasters.
Before I go any further, let me be clear: I am not here to start a debate about the vaccine. I respect a person’s choice to get vaccinated. I believe one of the greatest benefits of being an American is enjoying certain rights, including those that affect personal health decisions.
Before Gray TV made this vaccination policy mandatory, I made an informed and reverent decision not to get the vaccine, largely because I had already survived contracting COVID-19. (There are other, stronger reasons that led to my personal decision.) I know there will be people who disagree with me or don’t understand my reasons. That is perfectly clear because it is a protected right that they enjoy. In addition, it is a personal choice for every American; but in my opinion, a forced choice between vaccination and an individual’s livelihood is a dangerous precedent.
Unfortunately, due to my decision to vaccinate, I was about to be dismissed. The decision was difficult because I knew it would affect me and my family. My choice was either I follow the guidelines and get vaccinated or I lose my career at WLOX.
Please understand, I’ve tried everything possible to keep my job including offering to get tested weekly. My requests were denied. WLOX gave me my first job after college 18 years ago. I was an editor. Since 2007, I’ve had the privilege of waking up with you every morning at Good Morning Mississippi. I can’t tell you what a privilege it was. You have let me into your home over the years and have undoubtedly connected us in unique ways. I consider you family … and you have watched my own family grow over the years.
I said it yesterday at the end of my last GMM broadcast and I will repeat it again: THANK YOU, from the bottom of my heart, for letting me into your life. It means so much to me. I would also like to thank my managers and colleagues at WLOX for giving me so many opportunities over the years. They are my family too.
It hurts to say goodbye; it hurts to part under these conditions. However, I know in my heart that it is the right decision for me and my family. I may have lost my job, but I kept my integrity. On to the next chapter …
May God bless you.
