Because the head of the department for general medicine at the Center for Public Health at MedUni Vienna, Univ. Prof. Andreas Sönnichsen, who spoke critically about the so-called corona pandemic, was fined 5,000 euros by the Disciplinary Council of the Vienna Medical Association. Sönnichsen defended himself against this punishment and lodged a complaint with the Administrative Court of Vienna – successful!
The reason for the fine imposed by the chamber were statements by Sönnichsen at a press conference of the “Initiative for evidence-based corona information“(ICI), which did not coincide with the government narrative: Sönnichsen had stated, for example, the danger of Covid-19 is overestimated and the death rates are also based on the living conditions of the patients, on the statistical counting method and also on the functionality of the health care system traced back. In particular, the disease is safe for children in the vast majority of cases. Furthermore, masks would bring like they are used by most people, more harm than good and the only sensible measure for protection is hand hygiene, cough and sneeze labels and distance from the actually sick. With regard to the controversial Covid vaccine, Sönnichsen criticized the lack of data on long-term effectiveness and safety.
The Vienna Administrative Court now clearly stated:
“The incriminated statements made by the disciplinary suspect, which he does not deny as such, represent value judgments that are based on a factual basis. These statements are therefore subject to both those guaranteed by the constitution Freedom of expression (Article 10 ECHR) as well as the Freedom of science (Article 17 StGG). “
Chamber threatens criminal charges
Disciplinary proceedings before the Medical Association are repeatedly criticized. They do not even come close to the rule of law. The prosecution is also the judging authority, which suggests a comparison with inquisition trials. The medical association also requires the exclusion of the public.
Because incriminated doctors have to pay for their own costs regardless of the outcome of the proceedings, Andreas Sönnichsen is now turning the tables and allowing criminal proceedings against them Examine decision-makers from the Medical Association’s Disciplinary Committee. Thus, the medical association is now threatened with a criminal complaint and a lawsuit for damages.
